Woman Fatally Shot at Summit Lake Apartments in Akron

AKRON, OH — Akron Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting at the Summit Lake Apartments, which claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, around 12:26 a.m., when police were called to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the young woman with a gunshot wound to her torso. She was promptly transported by EMS to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

As of now, no suspect has been identified in connection with the shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld as investigations continue.
