MILTON, DE – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of Monday, November 20, 2023, in Milton, Delaware, following the discovery of a woman found dead in her home.
At approximately 11:18 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 28000 block of West Springside Drive in Milton after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a 57-year-old woman from Milton with a gunshot wound to her upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family and relatives.
The Homicide Unit of the Delaware State Police has taken over the investigation due to the nature of the victim’s death. Early findings indicate that the victim’s residence was hit by multiple gunshots fired by an unidentified assailant. One of these rounds entered the home and fatally wounded the woman.
As of now, there is no information available regarding the suspect. The Homicide Unit continues its active investigation into this tragic incident.
