Woman injured in Bronx chain-snatching robbery near Jesup Avenue

A Bronx woman was injured after a man ripped her chain from her neck and fled on foot, police said.

NEW YORK — A woman suffered minor injuries after being robbed of her chain in a street attack in the Bronx earlier this month, police said.

The incident occurred on Thursday, July 10, at approximately 7:20 p.m., in the area of Jesup Avenue and Sheriff S Byrd Place, within the 44th Precinct.

According to police, a 21-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified man who forcibly removed a chain from her neck before fleeing northbound on Jesup Avenue.

The victim sustained minor injuries to her neck and left hand but was not hospitalized.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing glasses, a white and green baseball cap, a black t-shirt, gray jeans, and white sneakers.

The investigation remains ongoing.
