Woman Injured in D.C. Shooting; Suspect Captured On Camera

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Metropolitan Police Department’s First District detectives are actively seeking information to identify a suspect involved in a recent shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, January 1, 2024, around 2:00 a.m. Officers were called to the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she received treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The suspect, whose image was captured on a surveillance camera, remains unidentified. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the police at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, tips can be sent anonymously via the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
