February 8, 2024

Millsboro, DE – A fatal crash early this morning has prompted an investigation by the Delaware State Police. The incident occurred on Shiloh Church Road near Hardscrabble Road in Millsboro.

Police reported that at around 6:31 a.m., a 1994 Suzuki Cappuccino, driven by a 35-year-old woman from Laurel, Delaware, was traveling eastbound and attempting to make a left turn onto an access road. Concurrently, a 2008 Ford Taurus, operated by a 28-year-old man from Salisbury, Maryland, was approaching from the opposite direction. The Suzuki, featuring a right-side drive, entered the path of the Taurus, leading to a collision where the front of the Taurus struck the side of the Suzuki.

The female driver of the Suzuki was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The driver of the Ford Taurus sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

The crash led to a closure of Shiloh Church Road for about three hours as authorities conducted their investigation and worked to clear the scene.
