Two arrested in armed robbery at Newark Motel 6 involving online meeting
NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested two suspects, including a 16-year-old male, in connection with an armed robbery at a Newark motel that took place after a woman arranged to meet a man she had met online.
The robbery occurred on October 15 at around 11:15 p.m. at the Motel 6 located at 100 McIntosh Plaza. According to investigators, the victim had arranged to meet a man at the motel after connecting online. When the man arrived, a second suspect appeared armed with a handgun. The two suspects then robbed the victim of money and property before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, detectives identified 21-year-old Wah’kee Tabron of Newark and a 16-year-old male from Wilmington as the suspects. Warrants were issued for their arrests.

Tabron was already in custody at Sussex Correctional Institution (SCI) on unrelated charges when he was formally charged in connection with the Motel 6 robbery. On October 24, he was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and remained held at SCI on $32,000 secured bond.
Charges against the juvenile were not immediately disclosed. The investigation remains ongoing.
