Woman robbed at gunpoint in DC apartment stairwell

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A woman was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint in the stairwell of a Southeast DC apartment building earlier this month, and police are now asking for the public’s help identifying multiple suspects caught on video.

The incident occurred around 1:26 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, in the 2400 block of Elvans Road SE. The woman had entered the apartment building when she was followed inside by a group of suspects. In the stairwell, the group assaulted her and carried out the armed robbery before fleeing the scene on foot.

Surveillance footage captured the suspects near the scene. The video has been released and can be viewed by the public at: https://youtu.be/97VCAg24MKs.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine the identities and whereabouts of those involved.
