BRONX, N.Y. — Detectives with the NYPD are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a violent assault that left two people injured early Sunday morning near West 183rd Street and Grand Avenue in the Bronx.
According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the incident occurred at approximately 2:34 a.m. when a 36-year-old woman became involved in a verbal dispute with a group of unidentified individuals. Police said the confrontation quickly escalated into violence after a 37-year-old man attempted to intervene.

Victims injured during attack
Investigators said one of the individuals struck the woman in the head with a blunt object, causing a laceration, before slashing her arm with what police described as an unknown sharp object.
Authorities said the same suspect then stabbed and slashed the 37-year-old man multiple times in the back after he stepped in during the altercation.
Police did not immediately release the conditions of either victim.

According to investigators, the suspect fled the area in a dark-colored SUV that was last seen traveling eastbound on Evelyn Place.
