NYPD seeks suspect weeks after attempted street snatching
QUEENS, NY – A 33-year-old woman was approached from behind on a Queens street last month by a person who tried to rip a necklace from her neck before running away empty-handed, according to police.
facebook.com/reel/1392378845703715/The attempted robbery happened at approximately 8 p.m. Aug. 6 in front of 22-59 31st Street, within the NYPD’s 114th Precinct.
Police said the unidentified individual came up behind the woman and attempted to forcibly remove the necklace from her neck.
The attempt failed, and the person fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
The NYPD did not report that the woman suffered any injuries and did not provide additional details about what led up to the encounter.
