WASHINGTON, D.C. – A fatal shooting in Southeast D.C. has claimed the life of a young man, prompting an investigation by the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch.

The incident occurred late yesterday afternoon, around 5:12 p.m., in the 2400 block of S Street. Police, responding to a report of a shooting, discovered a man inside a residence with gunshot wounds. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Javonni Anthony Coleman, a resident of Southeast D.C.
