Scottdale shop scores a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning Scratch-Off
SCOTTDALE, PA — A $1.5 million lottery payday has landed in Westmoreland County after a Scratch-Off ticket sold at a Scottdale convenience store hit the top prize in a Pennsylvania Lottery game.
The winning $1,500,000 Super Star ticket was sold at Par Mar Stores, located at 253 North Broadway St. in Scottdale Borough, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced Wednesday.
The $30 Scratch-Off carries top prizes of $1.5 million.
Par Mar Stores will receive a $10,000 retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The Pennsylvania Lottery does not know where winning Scratch-Off tickets are located when the games are distributed because tickets are sent to retailers at random.
Instead, the Lottery learns where a winning ticket was sold after the prize has been claimed.
The Lottery did not disclose the identity of the player in Wednesday’s announcement.
Scratch-Off prizes expire one year after the game’s end-sale date. The Lottery advises players holding winning tickets to sign the back immediately.
Pennsylvania Lottery prizes exceeding $5,000 are subject to applicable withholding.
