Police link 37-year-old suspect to predawn Russell Street shooting
BALTIMORE, MD — A predawn shooting that left a 41-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on Russell Street has led to an attempted murder charge against a Baltimore man arrested nine days after the gunfire, according to Baltimore Police.
Baltimore City detectives identified the suspect as Marquece Yarberough, 37, of Baltimore.
Yarberough was wanted in connection with the Aug. 12 shooting in the 1500 block of Russell Street.
The shooting was reported at approximately 5:20 a.m. that Wednesday.
Southern District patrol officers responding to the scene found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, later described by police as 41 years old, was transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment.
Police did not provide an updated condition for the victim in Tuesday’s announcement.
Yarberough was arrested in Baltimore City on Friday, nine days after the shooting.
He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with attempted first-degree murder, according to police.
Baltimore Police did not disclose what allegedly led to the shooting or what evidence investigators say connected Yarberough to the case.
The attempted murder charge is an accusation. Yarberough is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
