13th Street Shooting Under Investigation in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — A 33-year-old man was shot in the ankle early Saturday morning at the intersection of 13th and Walnut Street, according to police. Officers from the 9th District responded to the scene at approximately 4:11 a.m. following a radio call about the shooting.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his right ankle. He was transported to Jefferson Hospital by Medic 35, where he is listed in stable condition.

The scene at 1300 Walnut Street was secured by officers, with evidence of blood found in the area. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigations Group is leading the investigation.
