17-Year-Old Arrested for Possession of Large Capacity Firearm in Roxbury

August 23, 2024

BOSTON, MASS. — A 17-year-old male was arrested early Friday morning on firearm charges after officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Glenway Street and Erie Street. The arrest occurred at approximately 1:02 a.m. on August 23, 2024.

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle with excessively tinted windows and began to follow it. The vehicle abruptly pulled over at the intersection of Kingsdale Street and Bernard Street, prompting officers to initiate a traffic stop. During the stop, officers noticed that the vehicle displayed a rejected inspection sticker, which did not belong to the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle. A pat frisk of the passenger, a 17-year-old male, led to the discovery of a Glock 29 firearm with a magazine containing fifteen rounds in a fanny pack he was carrying. The driver was released from the scene following the investigation.

The juvenile was arrested and charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
