Monday March 22, 2021: (6) USC vs. (3) Kansas
Although the USC Trojans are the lower seeded team, they are seen as slight favorites in the betting line. Perhaps that’s due in part to PAC-12 teams having a good showing so far in the tournament. The Trojans feature 7-footer Evan Mobley, who averages 16.8 ppg. Mobley is considered a top pro prospect. We can expect USC to try to slow down the pace of the game to keep Kansas from dictating the tempo. USC is 23-2 this season when scoring 62 or more points.

Although Kansas has won 9 of their last 10 games, the Jayhawks are going to need to focus more attention on defense against USC. Kansas allowed Eastern Washington to shoot 50% from the floor in their last game. The Jayhawks got a big boost from their bench in that one, as they scored 35 points. The winner of this game faces the Iowa/Oregon winner next. Expect Kansas to advance.
