Lynn Haven Couple Charged For Neglect after home inspection found feces, drugs

LYNN HAVEN, FL – Investigators from the Lynn Haven Police Department, working in cooperation with Child Protective Investigators from the Florida Department of Children and Families have arrested a local couple on felony Child Neglect charges.

Investigators found their six and eight year old children were found to be living in unclean, hazardous and unsanitary living conditions.Forty-one year old, Gary Kenneth Smiley and Thirty-seven year old, Angelia Marie Bostick were taken into custody after information was developed that the living conditions of their Lynn Haven apartment was unsanitary and that both Smiley and Bostick had exposed the children to illicit drug use.

An inspection of the apartment revealed that there was feces and other unknown substances on the floor throughout the apartment, as well large amounts of household garbage, old and decaying food and trash. Furthermore, Bostick admitted that she and Smiley had been using methamphetamine in the presence of their children.


A consent search of the apartment confirmed the presence of drug paraphernalia, specifically, a used syringe which is commonly used for the injection of illicit drugs into the human body. Smiley and Bostick were booked into the Bay County Jail, where they will be held pending their First Appearance before a local Judge.

The child victims in this case have been removed from the home by the Florida Department of Children and Families to ensure their safety and well-being.
