On September 13, 2021, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputy at Arnold High School was notified of a threatening phone call received by an Arnold employee. This threat caused the closure of the school, The Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the Panama City Beach Police helped coordinate the evacuation and the securing of the school grounds while an explosive detection team from Tyndall Air Force Base swept the school looking for destructive devices.

Working with the North Strabane Township Police Department, in Canonsburg, PA, information was received that an Arnold student may have been tied to a second threat in their jurisdiction from September 9. Based on the two incidents being similar, it was believed that the student may also have had ties to the threat made at Arnold.

On September 13, 2021, contact was made with that student, and it was learned that he did in fact call the threat into Canon McMillan High School in Pennsylvania. In return, a student there had agreed to call a threat in to Arnold, which occurred yesterday.

Alex E. Solorio, a 14yo Panama City child was charged with Principal To Making A False Bomb Threat for the threat which occurred at Arnold. He was also charged with Making A False Bomb Threat for the incident which occurred in Pennsylvania.

As of this time, this investigation is ongoing, between the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the North Strabane Township Police Department, and further charges are expected in both of these incidents.
