There is a Freedom Convoy starting this weekend by truckers facing harsh restrictions in California and the rest of the United States. In the spirit of the trucker’s convoy that descended upon Ottowa, the capital of Canada, a similar effort is getting started this Wednesday in America and it’s headed for Washington, D.C. They expect to be in the nation’s capital to protest President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address.

The “People’s Convoy” will begin in Barstow, California on February 23rd and end in Washington DC. Maureen Steele shares details according to Newsmax’s ‘Eric Bolling The Balance.’

“An estimated 1,000 semi-truck drivers are expected on Feb. 23 to descend on Barstow, the official starting point of the coast-to-coast “People’s Convoy” to protest government COVID-19 mandates,” Gannett reported today. “The message the truckers intend to deliver from California to Washington, D.C., is that “government has forgotten its place” and that its mask and vaccination mandates are unconstitutional.”

That number is expected to grow exponentially as fed-up Americans from all corners of the nation join in the movement and descend upon the nation’s capital.

America’s left-leaning media is already trying to paint the protest as a far-rightwing and radical, even not racist event. Newsweek today reported one of the members of the protest is a member of the Proud Boys.

“A leader of the “People’s Convoy,” the protest planned for Washington, D.C., to resist vaccine mandates for U.S. workers, is reportedly a member of the far-right extremist group Proud Boys,” Newsweek reported today. However, it turned out that the group will be offering supplies and support for the rally and not an organizer.

“We’ve been tasked with collecting supplies, having people ready for the sides of the road when they do come through our territory, and if they stay in our territory to supply them,” a tweet from an account claimed by Raw Story to be owned by the organization, but not yet verified.

Now, the U.S. Capitol Police are considering erecting another barrier around the U.S. Capitol complex.

“There are plans for a series of truck convoys to arrive in Washington D.C. around the time of the State of the Union address to be given by President Joe Biden on March 1, the United States Capitol Police said on Friday,” Reuters reported. “In preparing, “the temporary inner-perimeter fence is part of those ongoing discussions and remains an option, however at this time no decision has been made.”
