Utica Man Slashed After Being ‘Jumped’ By Group of Men

UTICA, NY – A Utica man reported to police that shortly before midnight on Wednesday he was jumped by a group of unknown individuals in the area of Maple Street and Lenox Avenue. Police said he sustained lacerations to his head and face, caused by a sharp cutting instrument.

“At approximately 1145hrs on May 11.2022 units were dispatched to the 1300 block of Maple St regarding an assault investigation. Upon arrival, they were met by a victim who stated that he was jumped by a group of unknown individuals near the intersection of Maple St and Lenox Ave just minutes before,” the Utica Police Department reported. “The victim had several visible injuries including a laceration to his head and face that appeared to have been made by a sharp cutting instrument. The victim could not provide a great deal of detail about what had transpired other than he was walking and a group had assaulted him.”
