ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The annual Atlantic City Marathon Race Series is coming to the city this weekend, bringing runners from all around the country for the two-day event and city officials are advising participants and guests in the city to plan accordingly.
“Motorists should plan ahead for roads that will be closed and be prepared for significant delays in the area, including the Brigantine Connector/AC Expressway Tunnel, Marina District, and the Inlet,” the Atlantic City Police Department said today. “Be observant when parking on the street for NO PARKING SIGNS that will be posted. Vehicle in violation may be subject to being ticketed/towed.”
On the boardwalk, trams, bicycles and rolling chairs will be prohibited during the event. Police are also advising visitors to pay attention to no parking signs that will be temporarily posted. Those no parking areas will be strictly enforced.
Established in 1958, the Atlantic City Marathon is the third oldest continuing marathon in the United States. A USATF Certified Boston Qualifier, the race historically takes place each year in October.
The event course will be lined with entertainment and runners will be treated to a post-race beer.
