CARTERET, NJ – Glen Burtnik’s Summer of Love Concert, themed “Performing the Classic Rock and Soul of the Woodstock Generation”, is set to hit the stage at the Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center. This event promises more than just music; it offers an immersive “Happening” that aims to revive the authentic spirit and essence of the Woodstock-era Rock Festivals on a single stage.

The concert features a total of 16 dynamic performers, inclusive of lead vocalists, a horn section, strings, keyboards, background vocalists, and a rock rhythm section. The experience will be intensified by a psychedelic lighting and video show, taking attendees on a visual and auditory journey through the ’60s and ’70s. The event promises a faithful, live recreation of iconic tracks from legendary artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Joe Cocker, Santana, The Temptations, Jefferson Airplane, The Beach Boys, The Grateful Dead, Otis Redding, Sly and The Family Stone, and many others.

The brainchild behind The Summer of Love Concert is Glen Burtnik, known for his roles in Styx, the original Beatlemania on Broadway, and as a touring bassist/vocalist with the current version of ELO. Burtnik’s vast experience and passion for the era are evident. In a recent interview, he mentioned, “I’ve always had a playlist on my IPod named The Summer of Love. I’m actually a hippie at heart. The music of that era is probably what moves me the most.”

Attendees can anticipate a nostalgic trip down memory lane, with a touch of modern flair, celebrating a time that deeply influenced culture, fashion, language, and societal attitudes.
