MILTON, DE – Michael Lewis, 33, from Bridgeville, Delaware, was arrested on gun and traffic charges following a crash investigation in Milton on Friday night.

The incident occurred on December 22 at around 7:07 p.m. on Gravel Hill Road and Webb Road. Delaware State Police responded to the scene involving a moped crash. Michael Lewis, the moped operator, was detained by a Georgetown Police Officer after attempting to flee the scene.

The trooper observed signs of impairment during the interaction with Lewis. He refused to provide identification, leading to a search which uncovered a loaded firearm, a bottle of brandy, and personal documents in his backpack. A computer inquiry confirmed Lewis, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Lewis was taken to Troop 4, charged with multiple offenses, and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,503 secured bond.
