Dallas Man Fatally Shot Protecting Son in Home Invasion

DALLAS, TX – Juvenal Antero, 24, was shot and killed in a home invasion while reportedly protecting his four-year-old son. The incident occurred in the family’s apartment in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas.

Dallas Police were called to the scene around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they found Antero with gunshot wounds. The suspects, two men who had forced entry into the home, had already fled and remain at large.

Elizabel Cardenas, Antero’s wife, recounted the harrowing event to the media. She mentioned hearing a knock at the door and being confronted by two men requesting a plunger. It was then that they forced their way into the apartment, one of them armed with a gun.


The tragic incident has left the family and community in shock. Investigations are ongoing as the Dallas Police seek to apprehend the suspects.
