Two Shootings Rock Portsmouth Twenty Minutes Apart

Portsmouth, VA – The city of Portsmouth was shaken by two separate shootings within a 20-minute span, resulting in one fatality and another individual hospitalized.

Portsmouth Police Department reported the first incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Friday in the 3800 block of Augustine Circle. Responding officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Arthur Harris Jr., was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, Harris succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

In a second incident, police were called to the 1000 block of Frederick Boulevard, where another man was discovered with a gunshot wound.

This victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with either shooting.
