Today, the Holmdel Police Department issued a statement regarding an uptick in the past week statewide.

“Within 1 week, the number of motor vehicle related fatalities in New Jersey increased from 81 to 96. That means over 7 days, motor vehicle crashes resulted in 15 fatalities; which is equivalent to 2 fatalities a day,” the department said. “The Goal Zero Campaign was created to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired/distracted driving. As a driver, you are responsible for your actions and those actions effect your passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists. Save a life, don’t drive distracted/impaired.”
