Frederick Community College Lockdown Lifted After Police Investigation

Jeff Jones

FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Police Department reported a swift response to a potential threat at Frederick Community College last night. At 7:14 PM, the police were alerted by a third party to a student possibly armed on campus, although no specific individuals or firearms were identified by witnesses or law enforcement.

The college underwent a temporary lockdown as a precaution. A police K9 unit was deployed to conduct a comprehensive search of the premises. Following the investigation, authorities confirmed the absence of any immediate danger, leading to the lifting of the lockdown. Campus activities have since returned to normal, though police presence will persist in the vicinity.

The Frederick Police Department extends its gratitude to the community for their cooperation and urges continued vigilance. Suspicious activities should be reported to the authorities without delay.
