Jeremiah Riley Arrested in Connection with Middletown Shooting

Middletown, DE – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident on April 17, 2024, on Lake St. in Middletown, Delaware, where an occupied residence was hit by gunfire. Jeremiah Riley, 19, of Middletown, was identified as a suspect following an investigation by the Middletown Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit and the Delaware State Police SORT.

Riley was apprehended at his residence on Caribou Lane on May 17, 2024, after attempting to evade arrest. A search of his home led to the discovery of a firearm and packaged marijuana. He faced multiple charges, including possession of a firearm during a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, reckless endangering, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Following his arrest, Riley was taken to Middletown Police Headquarters for arraignment. He was subsequently held on a $124,000 cash bail at the Howard Young Correctional Facility.
