Charles County Man Strikes $50,000 Win on Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket

by Breaking Local News Report

CHARLES COUNTY, MD — A dinner out on town turned into a $50,000 lottery windfall for a Charles County resident. Last weekend, during a visit to Bubba’s Place in Newburg, a frequent scratch-off player purchased a 20X The Cash instant ticket that yielded the game’s top prize.

Upon taking the scratch-off games home, the Southern Marylander employed his usual method of first revealing the numbers before the potential prize beneath. Although initially none of the numbers were a match, he uncovered a 10X symbol concealing a $5,000 prize, multiplying to a total of $50,000.

The winner expressed his disbelief at the win, recounting his reaction: “I just stared at the ticket, thinking, ‘This can’t be right.’ I had to go and show my wife.” The couple, equally astonished and elated, visited the Lottery headquarters in Baltimore this week to claim their prize.

Plans are already in motion to celebrate the unexpected fortune with a special dinner and a vacation, with the remainder of the funds earmarked for savings. Bubba’s Place, the establishment where the winning ticket was purchased, will be recognized with a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the lucrative scratch-off.
