In the announcement, Trump urged supporters and advisers to avoid recommending candidates associated with specific political figures and organizations. He specifically requested that individuals connected to Americans for Prosperity, led by Charles Koch, and several high-profile political figures, including former National Security Advisor John Bolton, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Defense Secretary James Mattis, not be considered for roles in his administration.
The statement also criticized prominent Republicans such as former Vice President Dick Cheney, Rep. Liz Cheney, Sen. Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Paul Ryan, and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, labeling them as disloyal or critical of his leadership.
