BROOKLYN, NY — A Powerball player is $50,000 richer after purchasing a third-prize-winning ticket in Brooklyn for the May 10 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning ticket was sold at BSK Grocery Store, located at 4701 8th Avenue. The prize represents the game’s third-tier payout, awarded for matching four of the five white balls plus the red Power Ball.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday—at 10:59 p.m., with numbers drawn from two separate fields: one through 69 for the white balls and one through 26 for the red Power Ball.
Powerball win adds to Brooklyn’s growing lottery streak
The New York Lottery, which contributed $3.8 billion in funding for public schools last fiscal year, continues to produce frequent prize winners across the state.
Players have up to one year from the draw date to claim Powerball winnings. Help for problem gambling is available at NYProblemGamblingHelp.org or by contacting the confidential HOPEline.
