39-year-old found dead inside apartment in DC

Police are offering up to $25K for information after a man was discovered with fatal injuries inside a Northeast DC residence

Washington, DC — A 39-year-old man was found dead inside a Northeast DC apartment Monday evening, prompting a homicide investigation and a reward offer for information that could help identify those responsible.

Officers responded at approximately 7:44 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of 21st Street NE after receiving a report of an unconscious person, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male inside an apartment who was unconscious and not breathing. Police said the victim was suffering from apparent sharp force injuries.

DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and determined the victim showed no signs consistent with life. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as Quinton Evans, 39, of Northeast DC.

Investigators have not released information regarding a suspect or the circumstances that led to the fatal injuries.

The Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the homicide.
