QUEENS, NY — A 93-year-old woman was knocked to the ground during a morning encounter at a Queens intersection after an unidentified individual pushed her and fled the scene, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. Jan. 22 at the intersection of 81 Street and 41 Avenue. According to investigators, the elderly woman was standing at the corner when an unknown individual approached and told her to move.

Police said the individual then pushed the 93-year-old, causing her to fall and strike her head on the sidewalk.

The suspect fled northbound on 81 Street on foot. No arrest has been made.

Authorities have released details of the incident as the investigation continues.
