NEW YORK, NY—A violent incident occurred in front of 26 Astor Place on Thursday when a 30-year-old man was attacked by an unidentified assailant. At approximately 5:20 PM, the victim was approached and slashed in the back of the neck with a sharp object by the perpetrator, who then fled the scene.
The victim suffered a significant laceration to his neck and shoulder area and was subsequently transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. The assailant, described as a male with a dark complexion and medium build, approximately 6 feet tall, was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, camo-colored pants, and black boots.
