VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) has made a breakthrough in a 2022 homicide case with the arrest of Taveyoine Nishaun, a 20-year-old Norfolk resident.

Nishaun faces charges of First Degree Murder, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, and Gang Participation, following the fatal shooting incident that occurred in the 1200 block of Friendship Square on October 30, 2022. Police discovered a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound at the scene, who later died from his injuries on November 2, 2022.

After an extended investigation, VBPD detectives apprehended Nishaun on Thursday, June 7, 2024. It is important to note that the charges are merely accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
