Teen Charged for Multiple Shots Fired Incidents in Utica

UTICA, NY – Police have made progress in addressing a series of related shootings over the past several weeks. Recently, two individuals were apprehended in connection with a shooting on the 1500 block of Dudley Ave.

The investigation has led to the arrest of a juvenile.

On June 17th, 2024, officers from the Gun Involvement Violence Elimination (GIVE) team, supported by the Juvenile Aid unit, arrested a 15-year-old male following a shots fired incident that occurred on June 8th on the 700 block of Lansing St. At approximately 11:15 PM, several shots were reportedly fired into a residence. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but the potential for harm was significant.

Due to his age, the name of the juvenile has been withheld. He has been charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and criminal possession of a firearm. These charges reflect the severity of the incident and the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to curb gun violence and protect the community.
