UTICA, NY — Early this morning, Utica Police responded to a stabbing incident on the 900 block of Cherry Street. Upon arrival at approximately 12:15 AM, officers encountered a male victim who reported that he had been attacked by his girlfriend following an argument.
The victim detailed that during the dispute, his girlfriend, identified as 34-year-old Stephanie Santana-Rodriguez of Utica, brandished a knife and inflicted multiple cuts on his hands. Police and Utica Fire units provided immediate assistance at the scene.

In accordance with New York State’s mandatory domestic violence laws, Santana-Rodriguez was taken into custody without further incident. Following the investigation, she has been charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Santana-Rodriguez was transported to the Utica Police Department for processing. The case highlights the serious nature of domestic violence and the swift response by local law enforcement to enforce the law and ensure community safety.
