TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River will hold its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Wednesday morning to honor those lost in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, including two residents, Patricia Mary Fagan and Robert C. Kennedy.

The ceremony, organized by Toms River Fire Co. #1, is set to take place at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Robbins and Washington streets. The event will pay tribute to the 2,977 individuals who died that day, along with hundreds more who have since died from illnesses related to the aftermath of the attacks.

“We will never forget the 2,977 friends, neighbors, first responders, and fellow Americans we lost on 9/11/01,” the township said in a statement.
