NYPD Seeks Second Suspect in Manhattan Armed Robbery Spree

MANHATTAN — The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a series of robberies within the confines of the 1st Precinct, Transit District #2, and the 28th Precinct. The incidents, which occurred in August, involved the use of a firearm, according to police.

The first robbery took place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at approximately 12:50 p.m. in the 28th Precinct. A 19-year-old male victim had met with two males at the rear of 37 West 116th Street to exchange clothing. During the exchange, one of the suspects displayed a firearm and demanded the victim’s chain and clothing. The suspects then fled north toward West 117th Street with the stolen items. No injuries were reported.

The second incident occurred on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m. in the 1st Precinct and Transit District #2. A 24-year-old female victim met with two males on the mezzanine level of the Canal Street Subway Station to sell a watch. One of the suspects displayed a firearm and demanded money from the victim. The suspects then fled the station with the victim’s watch and money. There were no reported injuries.

A 16-year-old male was arrested on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in connection with the robbery pattern, but police are still searching for the second unidentified male.
