Bronx shooting leaves 25-year-old man dead, no arrests made

Gun violence in the Bronx claimed another life as authorities race to uncover what led to the deadly shooting.

BRONX, N.Y. — A 25-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday night in the Wakefield section of the Bronx, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:35 p.m. near 689 East 233rd Street. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.

Emergency medical services transported the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity until his family has been notified.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active as detectives work to determine the events leading up to the shooting.

Police have asked anyone with information to come forward as the search for the shooter continues.
