MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for portions of central and southern New Jersey, as well as southeastern Pennsylvania, from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service warns that 2 to 5 inches of snow could accumulate, with locally higher amounts possible, leading to hazardous travel conditions.

Snow is expected to begin late this afternoon, with accumulation increasing into the evening hours. Temperatures will reach a high of 36°F today under cloudy skies, with a 30% chance of snow after 4 p.m. Light accumulation of less than half an inch is possible during the day.

The heaviest snowfall is anticipated tonight, with accumulations between 2 and 4 inches as temperatures drop to 29°F. Winds will shift from light and variable to northeast at 5 to 10 mph after midnight. The chance of precipitation is 90%.

On Wednesday, lingering snow showers may continue before 10 a.m., followed by a brief lull and a chance of rain in the afternoon. The high will be 38°F, with northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph. Additional accumulation of less than half an inch is possible.

By Wednesday night, a steady rain is forecast to develop after 7 p.m., with a low of 33°F. East winds will increase to 10 mph, and rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch are expected.

Rain will persist into Thursday morning, with 50% precipitation chances before 1 p.m.. Cloudy conditions will give way to slightly warmer temperatures, reaching a high of 50°F, as winds shift westward in the afternoon.

Residents should prepare for slippery road conditions, especially during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Travelers are advised to drive cautiously and check road conditions by calling 511.
