Richmond police seek person of interest in fatal hit-and-run

by Local News Report

RICHMOND, VA — Authorities are searching for a man linked to a fatal collision last month on West Main Street, where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene.

On February 5 at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to the 2600 block of West Main Street and found 52-year-old Ruthanne Berry unresponsive. She was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died the following day.

Investigators determined Berry was crossing West Main Street in the crosswalk when she was hit by a dark-colored sedan traveling westbound. Surveillance footage showed the suspect vehicle leaving a parking lot at 1911 West Main Street just four minutes before the crash.
