Lobby brawl turns violent with man shot in d. C. Apartment building

Washington, D.C. — A shooting that erupted during a dispute in the lobby of a Southeast D.C. apartment complex early Saturday has left one man wounded, as police released surveillance images of the suspect and asked for the public’s help.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:13 a.m. on April 26 in the 800 block of New Jersey Avenue SE. Officers later located the adult male victim in the Unit block of Q Street SW, where he was treated by D.C. Fire and EMS before being transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined that the shooting followed a confrontation inside the lobby of the apartment building, and that the suspect fled the scene shortly afterward.
