Washington, D.C. — A 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a Southeast D.C. shooting earlier this month that left another man with life-threatening injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday.

The shooting occurred on Monday, April 14, at approximately 9:54 p.m. in the 2600 block of Stanton Road SE. Officers from the Seventh District responded and located an adult male lying unconscious but breathing on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers rendered emergency medical care using Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) kits until DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital.

Swift action by officers helped stabilize critically injured victim

Responding officers acted quickly to administer aid using TECC medical kits, credited with stabilizing the victim before EMS arrival. The victim was transported with life-threatening injuries and remains under medical care.

Detectives worked the case for nearly two weeks before identifying and arresting the suspect. Darius McIntrye of Southeast D.C. was taken into custody on April 26 and now faces charges of Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun).
