PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian on Tuesday, March 25.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:32 p.m. near the marked crosswalk at the D&R Canal Path on South Harrison Street. A pedestrian crossing at the location was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound, which then fled the scene without stopping.
Police said the victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. The individual’s current condition has not been released.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a newer model Subaru Outback with an unidentified New Jersey registration. The vehicle features a black, vertically aligned roof rack and a black rear bumper with a silver two-tone accent beneath the trunk area.
A witness at the scene captured an image of the vehicle. Despite enhancement efforts by police, the license plate in the photo remains unreadable.
Public urged to assist with identification
The Princeton Police Department is urging anyone who may recognize the vehicle or has information that could help identify the driver to come forward. Tips can be submitted directly to Patrolman Dante Focarelli at (609) 921-2100, or anonymously through the department’s communication channels.
“All tips can remain anonymous,” the department emphasized in its public appeal.
Authorities are continuing to review surveillance footage from nearby locations and canvassing for additional witnesses who may have seen the vehicle in the area before or after the collision.
No further details have been released regarding the identity of the victim or whether the vehicle sustained visible damage in the crash.
