A Parkville woman’s routine after-work Lottery stop led to a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 win in the May 1 drawing, Maryland Lottery officials confirmed. Jennifer Iobbi, a longtime Lottery player and supermarket employee, claimed the prize after matching all five numbers on her $6 Bonus Match 5 ticket.
Iobbi said she began playing Bonus Match 5 in February, inspired by other winners’ stories. On May 1, she purchased nine lines of numbers as part of her usual post-shift ritual, along with several scratch-offs. The next day, she scanned her tickets using the Maryland Lottery app and was prompted to visit Lottery headquarters.
“I usually pick up a few tickets after work, scratch-offs or a draw game,” Iobbi said in a statement shared by the Lottery. After receiving the message to visit headquarters, she asked her father for help confirming the win, which was validated at a retail location.
Her ticket’s second line matched the numbers 10, 20, 21, 24 and 26 drawn that night, earning her the top prize. The Bonus Ball for the drawing was 32, though it is not required for the main jackpot. Bonus Match 5 drawings occur nightly, with five numbers selected from 1 to 39.

Lottery win brings financial relief and plans for future
Iobbi redeemed the winning ticket at Lottery headquarters on Monday, accompanied by her father. She plans to use the prize money to pay off bills and invest in her daughter’s future, calling the win “a dream come true.”

Despite the excitement, Iobbi says the experience still feels surreal. She added that she enjoys playing regularly and still has several tickets left to scan.
