Electronics stolen from bronx apartment during daytime burglary, suspect sought

BRONX, N.Y. — Police are searching for a woman who burglarized a Bronx apartment Monday morning, stealing more than $2,000 worth of electronics before fleeing on foot.

The incident occurred around 9:13 a.m. in a residential building near Bristow Street and East 170th Street. According to police, the unidentified woman entered the 65-year-old female victim’s apartment and removed electronic items valued at approximately $2,100.

The suspect then fled eastbound on East 170th Street to an unknown location. No injuries were reported, and the victim was not present during the theft, according to initial reports.

Police have released a description of the suspect, who remains at large. Surveillance footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation.

No arrests have been made as of Monday evening.

Authorities describe the individual as a female with a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a blue hooded jacket, black sweatpants, and black shoes.

The NYPD is asking anyone who may have seen the individual or has relevant information to contact investigators.

“The unidentified individual fled on foot eastbound on East 170th Street to parts unknown,” police said in the incident report.

The stolen electronics have not been recovered, and it is unclear whether the victim was targeted or if the incident was part of a broader pattern.
