SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. — Police in Seaside Heights responded to a large altercation involving approximately two dozenjuveniles and young adults Friday evening, just as Memorial Day weekend celebrations began.
As of 10 pm, the boardwalk remains busy and packed with tourists and teens alike.
Officers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to the intersection of Blaine Avenue and the Boulevard following reports of a street fight.
Emergency personnel were also on scene, treating at least one individual for injuries sustained during the altercation.
Authorities have not released information about arrests or the severity of the injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details were immediately available.
The incident occurred shortly after town officials issued warnings to parents ahead of the holiday weekend, urging them to ensure teens comply with local curfews and behavior expectations.
Seaside Heights officials have previously stated that law enforcement would maintain increased patrols during the holiday period to manage large crowds and prevent disruptions.
