TOMS RIVER, N.J. — The Ocean County Board of Commissioners has introduced Ordinance #2025-21, authorizing $2.1 million in capital funding for Phase II renovations at the Juvenile Detention Center in Toms River.
The funds will be appropriated from the county’s Capital Improvement Fund and directed toward facility upgrades aimed at enhancing operations, safety, and infrastructure at the detention center.
Renovation part of multi-phase improvement plan
This latest appropriation follows earlier investments in the facility as part of a broader, phased plan to modernize the center. Specific details regarding the scope of Phase II renovations were not immediately released.
The Juvenile Detention Center is located in Toms River Township and serves youth from across Ocean County.
