COLUMBIA, Md. — A Howard County woman who stopped at Wegmans in Columbia to pick up dinner ingredients walked out with much more than groceries, winning a $32,694 FAST PLAY SLINGO® progressive jackpot on July 24.

The health care worker said she used an $18 Lottery voucher at a vending machine inside the store at 8855 McGaw Road, added $20, and purchased several tickets, including the $3 FAST PLAY SLINGO® game that hit the jackpot.

Initially unsure of her winnings after receiving a “File Claim at Lottery Claim Center” message, she later confirmed the amount and claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters on July 29. She said she plans to use the money for dental work, a new phone, and savings.

This is not her first big Lottery win. In 2022, she won $25,000 on a Pick 5 ticket she received through a promotional giveaway.

The Wegmans store will receive a $326.94 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
