WALTON COUNTY, FL — A Pennsylvania man is in custody after driving over 1,000 miles to confront the father of a 14-year-old social media influencer he had been obsessively stalking online for months, according to Florida authorities.
Jarred Easter, 29, of Trevose, was arrested Monday at a hotel in Crestview after investigators say he developed a delusional fixation on the teen, sending her disturbing messages and nude images, and ultimately showing up at her family’s home in Walton County.
Officials say Easter spent nearly three months bombarding the girl’s social media-linked email with unsolicited communications. The teen, who has a public social media profile, never responded or engaged with the messages. Investigators say Easter tracked her whereabouts by monitoring her online activity.
On August 18, Easter arrived unannounced at the family’s home and confronted the child’s father in the driveway, demanding to speak with her. The father ordered Easter to leave the property and immediately called the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
A warrant was quickly issued for Easter’s arrest by the agency’s Cyber Crimes Unit. With assistance from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Section, investigators located him at the Crestview hotel and took him into custody without incident. He was extradited to Walton County the next day.
Easter now faces multiple charges and remains jailed under a $250,000 bond. As part of court orders, he must wear a GPS ankle monitor, is prohibited from contacting minors, and is barred from internet access.
Sheriff Michael Adkinson called the incident a chilling reminder of the dangers facing young social media users. Authorities confirmed that the teen never saw the explicit messages, and an investigation is ongoing to determine if Easter had targeted any other minors.
